Grace and peace to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
It is my great pleasure to welcome you to St. Paul’s
Episcopal Church. For more than a century, St. Paul’s
has been a working parish, where people have worshiped,
prayed, celebrated, mourned and proclaimed the light
and life of God to the community.

We are an innercity church, both radical and diverse, and
with a deep commitment to social justice. We celebrate the
wealth of God’s Creation, welcoming into free participation
old and young, rich and poor, “born-here” and
“come-here,” gay and straight, and people of all
colors. We offer many opportunities for worship, community,
education, and ministry. We are especially committed to ministering
with the poor, hungry, and unemployed. We offer many vital
support services to help empower people who live in the shadows
of poverty. You will learn more about our opportunities as
you read the following pages.
Our parish has a long and rich history. I invite you to become
part of the continuing story of God’s many miracles
happening here on 34th Street.

“Almighty God, who created us in your own image:
Grant us grace fearlessly to contend against evil and
to make no peace with oppression: and, that we may reverently
use our freedom, help us to employ it in the maintenance
of justice in our communities and among the nations,
to the glory of your holy Name; through Jesus Christ
our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy
Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen”
